CURRENT SERVICE PROGRAMS

We are currently focusing on 6 service programs:

1. Brightest Horizons
    English as a second language

2. FISH of Sanibel and Community Housing Resources (CHR)
    Serving women on the islands (SWOTI)

3. Health Care Access Advocacy

4. Miracles in Action and GRACE
    Combating human trafficking through prevention and education

5. PACE Center for Girls
    Toward self-sufficiency for disadvantaged and at-risk persons

6. Southwest Florida Addiction Services (SWFAS)
    Addiction, recovery and mental health

The Sanibel-Captiva Zonta Club during 2007-8 also made “grant only” awards to Partners for Breast Cancer Care, Planned Parenthood of Southwest Florida, Our Mothers Home, Redlands Christian Migrant Association, Footsteps to the Future, and the Central Asia Institute.

Through Zonta International, the club also supports international programs: fighting poverty and AIDS in Niger; supporting education and health in Afghanistan and Bolivia; developing economic self-sufficiency in Sri Lanka; and fighting human trafficking in Bosnia and Croatia.
